My Water Dragon Year

Seriously... Hasnt been GOOD so far. Seems like it become bad to worst nowadays.

Didnt get to celebrate my CNY/ enjoy my leaves nicely. All I got is one "dragon-eye" that I need to take care in every hours, every seconds.. Sigh, pity me. Eyecare is my best friend in this CNY 2012.

Eye lotion. Eye drop. Eye ointment. Antibiotic. Allergic pills for a week and still, it doesnt heal yet.

HELP ME, GOD!

Isnt it scary?

My eye is swollen and red for almost a week. It started on last Wednesday when I woke up early in the morning, I thought it was my len which causes this red eye. Hell no. My eye seems to became worst day by day and it evolved into a "dragon-eye". I named it myself.

What I do everyday is just eye massage. Eye masks and also chrysanthemum eye mask. Heard that it's another alternative to cool down my eye and to reduce the reddish in me. But *deep sigh*, hoping to see my eye to recover each day when Im awake, but.. those methods arent working. Perhaps my eye is pretty much infected by virus that I have to seek for a specialist today in Midvalley.

Went through hell lotsa pain this evening.

Optometrist: "You have a bad viral conjunctivitis. I need to remove all of the membrane in your eye or else its hard for you to heal"

I was like "Really? How are you going to remove it?"

Optometrist: "Dont worry my dear. Will be removing it by cotton bud. It hurts a lil, but no worries. You'll be all right"

*panic attack*

She put me in a treatment room and starts removing my membrane by cotton buds. Was effing scared and I took a deep deep breathe before it starts. During the removal session, yes, it was pain, BLARDY HELL PAIN that I gotta "OUCH!" "PAIN. PAIN" "AARRGGHHH. IT'S PAIN. IT'S PAIN" and holding my hands tightly, hoping the session ends as soon as possible... The optometrist was kind and gentle enough, I guess.. And she did it quickly so that I wont be tortured by her! Well-concerned enough.

And if there is still any membrane in my eye tomorrow, I will still gotta go through another hell pain again. *pray to God that I'll be all right, pls pls pls*

Now that I feel there's something in my eyeball again.. Well, at least she has already cleared up the membrane in there. Eye is still swollen and red. Hope can get well soon, as in SOON before I start working by next week. Sigh. Hoping...

And I walked around to look at every desks when Im done with my work *chilling out in office alone*. Realized that my desk is stuffed with things, reddish colourful things compared to the majority of the desks; messy. papers. folders. empty. Yawn? Whatever. N.O.M.B...

Once in a while, it took me centuries to LOCK that blardy damn door and was stuck.

That blardy key dont wanna leave that locker alone! (it happened only, just now) And so, I tried my best to lock it and finally... Yea!

Been busy, very busy recently. To rush things out and enjoy my CNY holiday break.

2012 hasnt been really good so far..

One of it, my eye is infected and its already TWO days. Annoying. Hurtful.

First time in these few years, stepped outside with my specs. Just feeling oh-so-weird.

But I do have a choice? I dont.

And I look damn weird with one big and swollen small red eye. *sigh*

Just canpray hard so that my eye can heal in the very next day. Suffering in here. Mata sakit pun kena face computer for almost 10 jam. *sigh*

Need some rest now. Good night and sleep tight.

Day 3: Breakfast @Lin Heung Tea House, Central, Day trip to Ocean Park and dinner @Mong Kok.

Made our way to Central for famous dim sum breakfast!

Lin Heung Tea House, a 80 years old tea house (one of the oldest and most traditional of tea houses in HK). Old school decor, basic furnishings of stools and tables plus their traditional way of serving dim sums on pushcarts, very HK style.

Seriously, no offence, this tea house has no great service and always packed with customers, probably Im not used to HK culture. Bare in mind, you would have to rush and grab for dim sums, or else you will be leaving the tea house with an empty stomach. Prepare. Its time to 'fight' for food in Lin Heung!! No kidding.

Usual in HK, you gotta share table with other customers and we shared with a typical HK grandfather who went there alone for breakkie himself. Was told that he has been to Lin Heung for yearsssss and always has his breakkie there.

Grabbed this glutinous rice pao. (so-so only)

Dim sum is quite cold (so-so only)

Famous lotus seed paste bun (Lin-Yeung Bao)

I dont normally eat lotus seed paste bun but this is something new to me. There's salted egg yolk in the middle of the lotus seed paste and it tastes oh-so-good, has a perfect sweetness level too. Not too sweet and not too bland. Perfect. Dont mind having another lin-yeung bao again.

Some HK dim sum (so-so only)

Lin Heung didnt manage to leave a good impression in me apart from that famous lotus seed bun. Well, I have tried some other dim sum at some other place during my first visit in HK and that was AWESOME.. Better than this anyway..

Next stop: Ocean Park.

Took a cab there.

Probably kena con by that taxi driver. Felt like he took us to a further road in reaching our destination.

For this dolphin shows, you have to come earlier to get good seating, probably half an hour earlier. My time, I came in half an hour earlier and that arena was filled with peoplesssss! Come in late, you gotta stand, but you're not allowed to. So just sit at the stairs, but do come early for good seating.

This time, we took a bus back. And its faster than we took the cab earlier. Damn..

Couldnt find back the curry fishball stall that I makan on my first visit in HK. Sigh.

That curry fishballs seriously taste DAMN GOOD that I missed it a lot, just that couldnt find back the stall in there. Other curry fishballs, so-so only.

Day 2: Breakfast @Jordan & Shopping trip @Tung Chung & Tsim Tsa Shui

Day 2.

Took MTR to Jordan and walked over to Parkes Street (just all the way straight right after the Jordan MTR exit) for Australia Dairy Co.

Ignore the long queue there. Hongkis' are fast and efficient, so no worries about that. Probably you will just need to wait for 5mins and they will get a seat for you. If you come in a gang, you will get to sit together but if you come with two people, prepare to share table with some other customers and please make up your mind and order once you place your butt on the stool cause Hongkis' dont like to wait.

They took our order in less than 2 minutes and the food arrived in 2 minutes right after we ordered. Super fast and efficient in a crowded small restaurant, good to experience the hectic life in HK *phew*. :D

Try scrambled eggs and steamed milk puddings (a-must-try). It's superb! Lurving and missing it now.

Long queue but I waited for 5 minutes only..

Be patience.

Best Eats 2010 (Recommended) Award

Ordered a set of breakfast which contains a macaroni soup with ham + scrambled eggs and toast. Side order another milk pudding. Damn yummy.

Trust me, the egg tarts in HK and Msia are different. Im not an egg tart fan but the egg tarts in HK seriously impressed me much. Dont mind eating two.. With their wonderful tasty soft, rich egg in the centre nestled in crispy pastry.. one word that best describes it, DELICIOUSNESS.. No kidding, no play-play.

But where to find sucha egg tarts? Head over to 35, Lyndhurst Terrace at Central and search for Tai Cheong Bakery Shop..

Oh yea, if you want to try something new, you can also get their sugar-coated donut and chicken pie. Very tasty and nice as well. :))

Day 1: Victoria Peak@ Central & Yung Kee Restaurant@Central

Hello December, you came too fast and I'm another year older.

Year end, time to plan for some Christmas gatherings, parties or a road trip, or it's just another perfect time to plan for next year's trip! No plans for next year so far (for the first time), and I've been to three different countries this year which was well planned last year. Sigh. This year totally nothing at all. Conquered China (April). Cambodia (May). Hong Kong (September- for the second time).

Speaking of that, already forgotten that I didn't blog anything about my HK trip which I went two months ago.

Hong Kong trip- second time visit, makan trip.

Did my last minute packing and research on tourist attraction in HK.

My last minute as in few hours before I catch the flight there, not few days before. No time to do all the researching, was way too busy with work. Sigh. That night itself, had only an hour of sleep and it was dead tiring. Thought of not sleeping/ napping (afraid that I cant wake), but I ended up, fell asleep and woke up half an hour late, and rushed over to the KL Central for the bus to LCCT at 3.30am. Thank God we made it to the airport on time for check in.

Entertainment for the 5 hours flight but I slept like a pig.

The moment I woke was the moment where the destination to HK left about half an hour more. Damn awesome and cool! Clearing off my sleep debt and killed my time by sleeping in plane. *yay*

Tee shirt. Shorts. Slipper.

Left my scarf back at home. Thank God I wore a cardigan with me, or else I would be cold to death in the plane plus I was wearing shorts. Blargh!

Took the airport express which took us around 25-30 minutes to arrived in Central Station.

Quick and Comfy.

Once we reached Central Station, we switched from Airport Express to MTR Kowloon to hotel.

Was starving and tired of looking for the location of the hotel that I booked (Oriental Lander at Mongkok). We walked all the way from Mongkok station to Prince Edward station, and like finally, after using iPhone4 GPS and asking directions to Oriental Lander, arrived in the evening. *phew* Should just pay a taxi driver to get us there.

Super small size room, and my room back in Malaysia is even more spacious!

No 360 degree turning when showering. That small.

Overall it's okayyy-lah.. Room was very clean. 10 minutes walk to the nearest MTR (Prince Edward Station, not Mongkok). Location, so-so only, not that strategic but still fine.. Bathroom too small. And wifi can be accessed in the lobby only.

First meal in HK. Simply hopped into a cha chan teng nearby our hotel and had our lunch there.

Ah Ma Leng Tong (Ah Ma's Delicious Soup)

Too much of Chinese characters. Could not understand the menu well enough and the food there were not bad. Typical Chinese dishes that we can also find it back in Malaysia too. :)

Went for a walk somewhere nearby to check out and familiarise with the place.

Back to the room, rested and headed out again at night for dinner and some sight-seeing!

A Saturday today?

Oh yea, today is Sunday but why do I feel like a Saturday today?

Finally been able to pay off my sleeping debt over this long weekend. 12 hours of sleep. Awesomeness.

And finally been able to pay off my "blogging"/ "facebook uploading"/ whatever debt that I owed over this long weekend too.

Don't think 2 days off a week is sufficient. Saturday, spend time with friends. Sunday, spend time with family. And I think we should add on another day off to spend time for OURSELF. Couldn't agree more with me? Let's get people to sign off the petition letter and pass it over to the government requesting for another day off! *yay! yay!*

What's work when it comes to stress? STRESS. ANNOYED. IRRITATED.

How's life when it comes work? BUSY. HECTIC. RUSH.

That's a PR practitioner job and Im coping with it.

And sometimes, when you really want to UUUURRRRRGGGHHH!!!! but, you only can do it after the working hours. *release yourself from tension right after work*

But I dont do it to my family like Simpsons.

I try to enjoy my life as much as I can. You work hard, and you play hard to balance it, or else you'll be nuts from working and working and ONLY WORKING! *yawn* But I dont hardcore that much in playing hard. *tiring and Im aging. sob*

And here, friends play important role in life, not only to enjoy life together, but also to share your problems away. Note that, sharing is caring and Im sure they will give you the best ever advice to help you to be a positive and greater person. :)

Amazing experience in Siem Reap, Cambodia

Last day in Cambodia.

Visited to some other 'Angkor Wat' temples like Beng Melea, Lo Lei, Preah Ko and Bakong. Gosh. The distance from town, Siem Reap to those temples is pretty far. Took us at least an hour plus to reach by car.

If you hire tuk-tuk, I think it takes you around 2 hours to reach your destination.. So, for a comfortable journey, I recommend you to hire a driver to drive you there. You only need to pay them for like RM 70 per journey? Okay wert...

First and foremost, remember to get your Angkor Wat ticket..

An hour journey to Beng Melea (means lotus pond). That far.

Entrance fees: USD 5 and there are some local Cambodians who will tour you around but pls, they are expecting some tips from you. Hello, who will wanna voluntarily bring you around without any pay? There's no such things as FREE LUNCH!

A mystical and secluded forgotten temple which is not heavily visited (discovered in the year of 1990) like some other Angkot temples due to remote location. Majority of temple has now collapsed but has been appropriated with adequate wooden walkaways that weave their way through remains and the existing structures.

Tip: Wear an appropriate footwear.

The entire journey, I just brought along my slipper with me. Aint have any appropriate footwear but best advice, bring your sports shoe with you. You gotta climb up and down of those collapsed rocks in around the temples if you plan to tour around. But I still survive with my slipper, just that you gotta be very careful. :)

My first reaction, I was like OH EMM GEE! Are you kidding me? Tell me that you are kidding me. There isnt any flat surface in here, how are we gonna visit?!! Well, well, well.. A very rocky tour in the temple. Interesting...With my flip flops somemore.. Exciting.. Bravo!

Third temple. Preah Ko (sacred bull), to whom this complex of stone anAm impressed with the exquisite carvings and inscriptions on the lintels.d brick is dedicated, is bordered by a moat to the north and a moat to the south.

There are six towers displaying set on a platform, all beautifully preserved carvings.

Last visited temple, Bakong temple.

Bakong temple is the first pyramidal shaped temple in Cambodia to take the form which researches have come to call "temple mountain". The Naga (serpent) with 7 heads found on the side of the entrance causway appears for the first time in the place which will be taken by future naga balustrades.

Its base is a great five-tiered pyramid perhaps representing the five earthly realms of snakes (nagas), birds (garudas), demons (rakshasas), nature-spirits (yakshas), and kings (rajas).

Magnificent Angkor Wat temples!

*explore explore explore* :D

A-must-visit temples in Siem Reap, at least ONCE in your lifetime in experiencing and exploring these Asian historical architectures. Ancient. Culture. Historical. Amazing. Stunning. Beautiful.

Ta Phrohm (must visit)

The so called "jungle temple" where you can see enormous trees growing side by side or on top of the temple walls. The age of this temple clearly shown by the size of all the trees in around the temple and I would say that this atmospheric temple is a favourite for many!

One of the 12 main temples in Siem Reap, you can visit Ta Phrohm any time of the day and do visit earlier in the morning to avoid massive crowd. This temple has been mostly untouched and left to nature. Oh yea, this is the place where famous movies like Tomb Raider, Indiana Jones and Lara Croft were filmed. :))

Restoration of the temple. Thank God I managed to visit the "original" temples before the temples are all "renewed" by its new look.

Super hot weather. Remember to bring an umbrella and wet tissues!

Second a-must-visit temple. Angkor Wat (largest religious structure on Earth, nearly 900 years after it was built)

For those who plans to take a tour to the top level of Angkor Wat (most sacred shrine), prepare to pack a set of appropriate attire (long pants- knee length and also a sleeve top- as long as it covered shoulder) as a respect to the religious site. Also, sufficient water and wearing suitable shoes are essential as some of the distances, stairs (especially those super steep stairs) and intense heat proved to be challenges..

Knowing that Cambodia weather is hot all year long, the clever me did not pack any long pants or sleeve tops with me. Had no choice but to get a Cambodia pants to visit Angkor Wat!

Located on top of a hill, this place became one of the hot spot for tourist to view sunset! Be there earlier, say around 4-5pm to get a good place. Many walking and climbing to do! Trekking takes about half an hour and when you arrived at the temple, you gotta climb up from the steep stairs to reach the top! Like PHEW...

Bayon & Phimeanakas Angkor Temples

Cambodia, also known as The Kingdom of Wonder, is a country in South-East Asia home to rich cultural and natural beauty, with magnificent temples, pristine beaches and a wonderful rural charm.

It might not be a great place for travellers who seek for romance, rest and relax, but it is definitely a great place for those who seek for adventurous learning trip. I enjoyed learning and exploring wonderful ancient Angkor Wat temples in Siem Reap, like seriously, no joke!

I have this personal driver and a tour guide who bring my boy and me around in a private car to Angkor Wat, briefly explaining the Cambodia's culture and the history of each temples that we visited. Seriously I really salute him because he, our English tour guide explained to us VERY IN DETAIL about the time and history of each venues. Pity him, he must be dead memorizing the fact in the night before touring us around. But hey, they're wonderful. :)) Worth tipping them!

First stop. Bayon Temple.

I would say that Bayon temple left the biggest impression, and it is the best part of the Angkor temples. The other temples are all architecturally stunning and massive but to really experience Bayon and get wrapped up in the maze of faces that you cant escape from is something unique and different.

Stopping by at Baphuon/ Phimeanakas Temple (out of our itinery) but the kind tour guide asked us on whether we want to visit to this temple and warned us to be extraordinary careful as it was built with very steep stairs side and the width is just enough for one person.

Originally, there was a tower at the top, which according to ancient Chinese traveller accounts was covered in gold, however not much of the tower now remains. *duhhh*

Interesting fact that I found online.

Phimeanakas, which means celestial temple was built during the reign of king Rajendravarman at the end of the 10th century and served mainly a ceremonial function. According to legend – the King would go every night to the top alone where he would meet a Naga girl (a mythical Hindu serpent deity), if the king failed to show up, certain disaster would strike his empire. (LOL) :)

Its easy for you to climb up, but once you're on top, its gonnabe a trouble for you to get down to the land! I was in dilemma on whether to climb up a not since the tour guide already warned us to be extraordinary careful but after thinking much and tired of waiting alone down there, decided to climb up myself (til half way) and I surrendered, waving a white flag...

Too bad, I wish I could slide down from the top but sigh, it was way too scary for me to get down because of the steep stairs! Sob.

Selamat Hari Raya and Merdeka people!

Two celebrations in a same day, and Malaysia gets a week holiday! How awesome is that, but not me lah, I worked on Monday and gotta work on Friday as well. :/ *im hardworking. XD*

Seriously I couldnt remember what I did on the last Merdeka. Let me recall that. Hurmmmm. Dang. Still couldnt recall what I dont know what I did on my last Merdeka Eve. *stressed out on this lil thing but urghhhh*

Hahaha. How can they named their villa "No Problem Villa"? LOL. Make sure there isnt any problems in the villa or else... *larfing out hardly*

Our first destination. Tonle Sap Lake.

If you dont know anything about Tonle Sap lake, it is the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia and is an ecological hot spot that was designated as a UNESCO biosphere in 1997.

They have this village called floating village where people live on the lake. No kidding. With the continuous change of the water level, the people who live on the lake have to move their houses away when the water level goes down. Whole villages including schools, shops, churches, and pig farms are getting pulled away to a place where the water is still high enough to float.

My period of visit was dry season and the low water level was making the trip a lil bit more longer than our estimated arrival time in floating village.

English speaking tour guide. Not that bad but prepare to give some tips! They're waiting for it.

Feel so queen in that whole trip. Those drivers and tour guides are real good! They opened up the door for us and I told them "Thanks but you dont need to open the door for me, I can open it myself. :)" But that doesnt work on them. They still opened the door for us in every stops that we made!!! Well, tips are expected from us, thats why. :)

Second destination: Killing field. A very interesting place to visit.

The Killing Fields are a number of sites in Cambodia where large numbers of people were killed and buried by the Khmer Rouge regime, during its rule of the country from 1975 to 1979, immediately after the end of the Cambodian Civil War (1970-1975).

1.7 Million Cambodians Dead

The killing fields document death. From 1975 to 1979, Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge soldiers killed 1.7 million Cambodians, or 21 percent of the population, according to Yale University's Cambodia Genocide Program.

A soccer-field-sized area surrounded by farmland, the killing fields contain mass graves, slightly sunken, for perhaps 20,000 Cambodians, many of whom were tortured before being killed. The bordering trees held nooses for hangings.

A memorial building stands in the center of the killing fields. Many of the skulls inside were pulled from the mass graves.

It is VERY heartrending to know about the history of killing fields but in the same time, it is interesting to get to know some other country's history as well. Imagine the millions were cruelly killed by their own people; own government in their own land for no reason at all (actually its for the country's social equality but innocent people especially those educated ones were killed in a painful, tortured and horrible ways like drilling/ nailing into the brains, people were buried alive, and worst, prisoner guards took away babies from the mothers and... *sob sob* crushed the babies skulls in front of them). T__T That's damn brutal and... sad, real real SAD. *sob sob*

Saw one of these in a website.

It's hard to comprehend the motivations behind an atrocity like the Cambodian genocide. What could have been going through the minds of the Khmer Rouge officers and their leader Pol Pot?

"Hey Pol, I've got an idea, man. Let's turn the country upside down and get real primitive. Evacuate all the cities, march everyone out to the country. And then start farming, man! Big time. And if anyone resists, let's execute them. In fact, let's kill a whole lot of people. I'm talking hundreds of thousands. Maybe millions. And do it real cruel-like. Bash their heads against trees, electrocute 'em, drown 'em in vats of cold water...

That's insane! I really cant take it no more. *sob*

Soon after we left the killing field, we were brought back to the hotel and it was free and easy after that! We then took a tuk-tuk to explore and to see what to shop in old market.

Old market, a popular tourist place that offers the deepest selection of souvenirs and curios of any of the traditional markets. There are souvenir vendors on all sides off the market and into the interior, especially on the south (river) side offering silks, silverworks, statuary, art and handicrafts as well as t-shirts, dresses, Cambodian pants, post cards, books and so much more!

Tips: Remember to negotiate for a "better" price! ;D *winks*

Cheap alcohol and affordable international cuisines!

You can find all kinds of cuisines on and around Pub Street like Khmer, Thai, Western, Vietnamese, Indian and variety of international foods! Most of the bars open as early as 5pm where tourists take advantage of the various happy deals *no need to grab various deal also darn cheap like hell already* and also to chillax after returning from walking under the striking hot sun around the temples. Kewl. :))

Massage. No PIRANHA! Like DUHHH-UUHH?? LOLLL!

I wish I were a couch potato like how I used to be! I still have my gossip girls season 4 last few episodes and glee season 2 series that I havent got the time to watch yet. *sad* Its on my desktop since last few months and now, its still there, untouched yet. How I wish I could spend time watching back the series and reality tv shows, stay cool and relax all the time. CHILLAX. SIGH.

Gawd. Past 3 mths and Im still blogging about my China post.

Spare me more time. I need some time to rest. Never had a really good rest since after I joined the workforce in last April and things are piling up now! Not whining about it, but glad that I was given the opportunities to learn and space to grow in there. More to come actually! *tiredddd*

This gonnabe my last China post. Like finally. Its been ages in here. *annoyed*

Weather wasnt that cold anymore, and it was kinda warm, around 18-19 celcius.

Surprisingly, this place was actually filled up with lotsa youngsters who came in a group just to visit the village. LOL.

Its not a good choice to shop in China. Everything, as in those branded/ luxury items are more pricey compared to home price. So, if you're planning to shop in China, forget about it. But do shop for China brands. Its super cheap. LOL.

The performances was way more better than the one I watched in Shanghai. At least the props, sound effects and lightings are 'appealing' and interesting to look at. Quite entertaining. :)

Rushing over to the airport right after the show! Gonna be home one day earlier for my convocation. Was pretty rush that night. Thank God, I was able to catch the flight home!

5 hours of journey back home. At least I took a nap in the airplane. Touched down at LCCT around 4.30am, back home around 5 stg in the morning and ironed my robe once I showered only then I headed over to my convocation which started at 9am.

That was epic but worth a while. Couldnt risk to miss my Degree Convocation. :))

Good night people. Im freaking tired and hungry. Thank God its Thursday tomorrow and Im going for Liverpool's training too! *yayyy*

Its only Tuesday and I thought that its a Wednesday today. Totally freaked me out. Still got lots of pending stuff to do. *SIGHHH!*

I feel like its gonnabe a tiring yet stressful week ahead. Be prepared, Mun Yee. T_T *sobz* So tired. Weekend, come to me, pls. I need you.

Browsing through my China pics, I do miss the time where I "did ntg" but just "lepaking" around for four months. Miss that shits. Demn..

Can I enjoy myself again like how I enjoyed in Shanghai city? Missing the good old days.

Oh, I had a ride in Shanghai Maglev train which known as the World's Fastest Train. *nge heh heh*

With 431 km/h high speed, can reach a 30km journey in 8 mins. Super fast!

First section in the exhibition. Gigantic 3-sided cinema playing 10 mins of China history til the modern day, today with limited seats and rude China citizens who kept pushing around.

This gigantic long screen is damn cool. Its not a static picture, but its animated! Damn cool.

I do really admire the drawings. Was staring at each of the pictures and its damn creative.

So, this is it. Really hate the crowd.

I freaking love this place in Shanghai! Nice place to chill out.

All those rich people and angmohs hang out in here. The cars that parked at the street along there were all freaking expensive cars. A more high-end venue for them to chill out. Environment look damn nice. :)

Had a dinner at this place like Jogoya.

A buffet dinner, around RMB 100 but serves with wine & beers too. Awesome than Jogoya. Haha. And also, a live band but the food over there was so-so only. Like Jogoya too. Ahhhhh!

Oh Emm Gee. Im so tired and really need a good night sleep now. Till then, end of my Shanghai post! Like finally? Haha.

Cant wait to check out Shanghai city before that. Now I've been to Shanghai, and I kinda like the city too. Check out the pictures below. :)
