A memorable night.

A prom. But erm, should I just call it a prom? *Thinking hard* Hmmm. Okay, it was a prom but its not a formal prom, just that we as in the Department of Communication students planned to do it the other way round. An informal social gathering for all the Communication students in HELP Uni College, not forgetting the lecturers too!

It was the first time for our department to actually hosted a gathering itself with the lecturers and students where the department is actually still quite new in the area and previously, the communication and ADP (American Degree Program) are kinda close, so both of them had actually joint in twinning programs *LOL* like a prom night! A night together and yea.. We're separated now. Its good to know that Communication department is growing bigger and bigger! :)

Last year, it was a prom at some KL hotel. I forgot the name of the hotel. And it was a joint in social night with Communication and ADP departments. So it was rather sux for me, seriously not because the we joined ADPs prom but because of everything.

I dont really quite enjoy myself in the last prom but Im glad that I enjoyed myself so much in this year social gathering. God damnit. Last year and this year make up was a total disaster. As in, I do not have much time for myself to get prepared. So rush!!!

Not because I last minute prepare but because of some matters which caused me to be in that rush! At least I managed to prepared myself, the make up session in within half an hour. Plus Im not so pro in falsies too. T_T Need more time!

Strass Et Paillete- 2009 Prom Night

This year it was at Cineleisure *super convenient* and it was held in Funky Villa, a new Thai pub and restaurant which located just the same row as McDonald.

If you notice and been following my blog, I had been blogging about it in my previous post here. Though the place is not as crowded and as packed as the other pubs in there, but it was a great place to chill and chit chat with friends around. But if you prefer those super in and crowded place, just pick Library or the Tao Club which located just beside Library.

Havent been into the Tao yet and heard that the parents company is the Modesto. Aint sure it will be cun or not. But if you are the party type, love dancing and stealing the limelight in the middle of the dance floor, Sanctuary is always welcoming you but not on the weekends! Super pack and there isnt any dance floor for us to dance and not even one centimeter distance for us to walk. Aiks. Imagine yourself being sandwiched. Urgh. Cant even dance.

This year, our theme was Cosmos Under Bright Lights, inspired by the Sex and The City, if Im not mistaken. Gulp.

It was rather a LAST MINUTE decision for me to join in with my bunch of friends there. I decided it on that day itself probably around 2-3pm while the party starts at 6.30pm. WTF right? Thank god, Nelson could get a ticket for me on that day.

And thank god, the dress code aint any formal occasion, or else, Im dead. It was a semi-formal occasion where we can flexibly dress up! Yay! So i just tried out few dresses or mix and match a few of my tops and bottoms for that night itself. And yea, my outfit, many mistakenly that it was a one piece clothing but noooo, I mixed and matched it. :)

Theres a story behind of why am I making the last minute decision to join in that night.

My gang and I, who did not attend the party planned to meet the rest of them right after their party in Funky Villa.
We planned to dinner ourselves in Curve.
The planned was cancelled on that day itself.

Since I have nothing better to do and it was my last year and last time for me to have fun in all these college thingy, I dont mind paying just to get involved in it. Last time in my life. I would rather appreciate it.

We were shocked to see Jamie dressed up like a lady that night. Gosh! Normally her dressing to the college was like tomboyish, a sweater with pants or tee shirts with pants but that night itself, she gave everyone a real shocked! With make ups, accessories and dress. Just so feminine! You look gorgeous, Jamie. :)

And there were a few activities, but I did not take part in any of it. LOL. And some awards giving etc etc etc. Not only to students, but to the lecturers as well.

And as part of a social gathering with all the cool dudes and babes, it was also a farewell for our Head of Communication too, Dr. James Kuake. He is such a lovely lecturer who always put his million dollars smile on his face in every situations and will never put his anger or express any of his dissatisfaction to the students. Plus, he is soooo soooo soooo kind in helping his students to the maxxxxxx!

Thanks and we love you so much, Dr. James!!!!!!!! Always in our heart, the best lecturer in the world! :)

Ms. Brenda Danker is the producer and director of production house Big Pictures, who has teamed up with fellow film makers to create a feature film 'Gadoh' that faces the racial discrimination issue.

Mr. Zan Azlee is a TV/ film director, producer, videographer and writer who is also involved in journalism both for broadcast and print. Guess he's multitasking. Also a content consultant, content developer for new media/ Internet, HELP Uni lecturer and currently running Fat Bidin Media, if you have heard about it. Source taken from his fatbidin site.

While Ms. Kartini Ariffin, a host from 3R local program, an actress of Gol & Gincu and also an emcee joined us too, but I guess was just for temporary program.

And the rest of them, at least gained their masters in communication to guide us!
